Tutorial for fellow Twine creators


Hi all! This post is for fellow game writer/designers who use Twine. It probably won't interest anyone else.

When I set out to make pumpkin.jpg, one thing I couldn't really find anywhere was a clear explanation of how to make a Twine game reference external image/audio assets that aren't hosted online, and package the whole thing as a playable embed for hosting on sites like itch.

As it turns out, it's actually not super complicated; just really unintuitive. So I wrote a lil tutorial:
